Ewalt and Walker’s show Bromance: The Dudesical was most recently performed in sold-out concerts at Caroline’s on Broadway and at 92Y Tribeca. Together, Kyle Ewalt and Michael I. Walker have also written the song cycle Separate: Battle Songs of Youth (Ars Nova’s ANT Fest 2010), as well as the full-length musicals The Making of Madeline Moore (The Merc NYC 2009), and Broke. Their work has been seen in Michigan, Toronto, and London, and in New York at Playwrights Horizons, Joe’s Pub, Theater Row, Galapagos Art Space, and as part of the We Are the Song Benefits for the After the Storm Foundation.
Michael I. Walker (Book and Lyrics) is also an experienced playwright, whose play, Letter From Algeria, debuted Off Broadway at the Abingdon Theater in October 2010 produced by Ground UP Productions. Michael was hailed by The New Yorker and called one of American Theater Web's Playwrights Whose Work Bares Watching for his play, Blackout, produced Off Broadway in 2007. Michael’s other dramatic writing includes the one act play Three Rooms, which was part of the Metropolitan Playhouse’s 2011 East Village Festival, the dance-theater piece How Culafroy Became Divine, which he co-authored with Moving Theater for its premiere at Jacob’s Pillow International Festival, and the independent film, Chin Up, which he co-wrote with director Michelle Walson, and will debut this fall.Walker is a graduate of Yale University and earned his Master’s degree at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and King’s College, London.
Kyle Ewalt (Music and Lyrics) is an accomplished composer who has penned original pieces for Ultra Records, BIG Management, the jazz group Syncopation, and the dance/electronica band Kyven. Kyven’s latest album, “Hands Down” was released this summer and has already been featured on MTV’s Jersey Shore and NBC’s The Voice. His compositions with international DJ sensation Serge Devant, “Surround U” and “Part of Me,” can be heard in clubs across the globe. Kyven’s single, “Stronger Love,” was featured on nationwide compilations for Abercrombie & Fitch and Adidas and was a top 40 hit in Poland for 8 straight weeks. Ewalt is a graduate of Berklee College of Music, where he studied songwriting and vocal styles with Cheryl Bentine of the Manhattan Transfer.
