Betsy Adams is a New York-based Lighting Designer whose work has been seen from Alaska to London. Recent productions include the premiere of When I Come to Die at Lincoln Center (LCT3 at The Duke) and The Laramie Project: Epilogue tour; Macbeth and Merchant of Venice in rep at Juilliard; Around The World in 80 Days at the Westport Country Playhouse, Irish Rep and Cincinnati Playhouse; and Dissident Acts directed by Russian director Gary Chernyhovsky. She has designed many world premieres including The People’s Temple for Berkeley Rep; The Laramie Project, Denver Center Theatre; and Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde, NYC. Her work has also been seen on the stages of Alabama Shakespeare Festival; Arena Stage; Baltimore Center Stage; Denver Center; The Gielgud Theatre (London); the Guthrie Theater; La Jolla Playhouse; Mark Taper Forum, NYS Theatre Institute; Paper Mill Playhouse; Perseverance Theater; San Diego Opera; and Seattle Opera. Her company, Blue Hill Design, provides lighting design services for industrials, theatre and special events worldwide. Projects include product launches for Pfizer, Gillette, and IBM and the James Beard Foundation Awards at Avery Fisher Hall.
