Ari Fulton is a New York based costume designer for stage, film, opera, and dance. Ari has over 15 years’ experience working with theatrical costumes. She trained at DePaul University, where she received a BFA in Costume Design, and at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she received a MFA in Design for Stage and Film.
Most recently, Ari designed the costumes for the world premiere of Little Girl Blue: The Nina Simone Musical at George Street Playhouse. Her recent theatre credits also include: Pipeline (Indiana Repertory), Skeleton Crew (The Huntington Theatre Company), Terminus (New York Theatre Workshop Next Door), and Not Water (New Georges).
Ari designed the feature film, Nigerian Prince, which was shot on location in Lagos, Nigeria. The film is a 2017 Tribeca and AT&T New Voices recipient, which collectively awarded the film a grant of one million dollars. She has also designed films in Paris and Ghana.
Ari is most interested in captivating the imagination by creating iconic characters that stay with the viewer long after the performance has ended. She is currently on faculty at Queensborough Community College in New York City. www.arifulton.com
