JENN RAPP

BROADWAY Jenn Rapp is the current associate director/choreographer for Broadway’s The Illusionists, which played a record-breaking runs at the Marquis Theatre in 2018 & 2015, Neil Simon Theatre 2017, and the Palace Theatre in 2016.   

CURRENT She recently directed/choreographed the world premiere of Painted Alice, an immersive musical performed in an art gallery, Plaxall Gallery LIC. She choreographed the world premiere of Mary & Max at Theatre Calgary. She is director/choreographer for US Tours of the hit television shows Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Pj Masks and the upcoming My Little Pony. She is also the choreographer/associate director for Disney’s new a cappella music group Dcappella, who have launched a US & Japan tour 2019, television & video performances & multiple productions on Disney cruise line.

OFF-BROADWAY She associate-directed Squash at The Flea, Found at Atlantic Theatre Company, Bare at New World Stages, Carrie for MCC and Lucky Guy at the Little Shubert Theatre. She directed and choreographed Prison Dancer for NYMF, for which she won an Excellence in Choreography award and Spamalot for Surflight Theatre, earning a Broadway World NJ Best Choreography Award.

TELEVISION For television, she was associate choreographer for Cinemax’s THE KNICK, Showtime’s Happyish and Z: The Beginning Of Everything with choreographer John Carrafa. They have worked together for many years in musical theatre, television, commercials, and on the original musical Finding Nemo, still playing at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom.

OTHER CREDITS include Williamstown Theatre Festival where she choreographed and associate directed the new play Song For A Future Generation, and two years of the original community works musicals written by Lucy Thurber Taiga In The Berkshires and Once Upon A Time In The Bershhires. At Bucks County Playhouse, she associated directed the new musical A New World. As an associate director to Stafford Arima, she worked on the Lincoln Center one-night-only concert staging of Ragtime starring Lea Salonga, Norm Lewis, and Patina Miller and choreographed The Secret Garden starring Ben Platt & Telly Leung.

She has extensive experience mounting national and international tours of popular cartoon TV & film characters, putting the characters from Madagascar, Dora The Explorer, Spongebob Squarepants, Thomas & Friends, and Scooby-Doo into original musical theatre productions.

Twice a year she boards a cruise ship to direct and choreograph the ongoing original NCL production of Le Cirque Bijou—a mix of aerial circus choreography and dance—and as the associate director for Broadway’s Jersey Boys on the Norwegian Bliss.

She has traveled to numerous countries and has worked with casts in English, Spanish, Italian, Turkish, Japanese, Portuguese, Dutch, German, Korean, Cantonese, Mandarin, Hebrew, and French.
